To Abbotsford United Soccer Club,
I would like to take this moment to thank your club and you for the amazing work that was put out by everyone to make a momentous day such a success in our little city. This was a true community effort.
Tired as I am and as you all are I am sure, I know we are all basking in the lovely spirit of the three days and the centennial year thus far. The moments are too numerous to mention but if we all take a moment they will come flooding back to us.
A mere thank you perhaps does not suffice, but within the words is an infinite emotion of gratefulness, pride and closeness that has brought us all together. Everyone gave from the well of goodwill, personal energy and an abundance of time in the spirit of community.
We all know that you are now part of history in the making. The record will show that a whole community came together in solidarity and your role in it.
When we open the museum in Dec on the 17th we hope to have a corner dedicated to the centennial committee. Please forward suggestions as to what form that might take.
Job well done, onward and upward.
